Senator Kashim Shettima, the Vice President, has commenced his journey from Abuja to Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum. The trip, orchestrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was confirmed in a statement by Shettima’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha.
During the 2024 forum, Shettima will engage with global political and business leaders, participating in discussions on worldwide socio-economic and development issues. Beyond the plenary session, he will unveil the Private Sector Action Plan for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) in a special session he co-chairs.
High-level talks are on the agenda, involving discussions with IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, among others. On the sidelines, Senator Shettima will lead a roundtable dialogue on Nigeria’s economic trajectory and attend a dedicated session focused on instilling trust in the global energy transition program.
The Vice President is anticipated to return to Nigeria following his participation in the week-long event.
