Hope Uzodimma Takes Oath for Second Term as Imo State Governor
Hope Uzodimma has officially commenced his second term as the governor of Imo State, following his re-election months ago.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Dan Ayiam Stadium in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, with the governor taking the oath of office at approximately 3:24 pm.
The inauguration coincided with Lady Chinyere Ekomaru being sworn in as the deputy governor of Imo State shortly before Governor Uzodimma.
The ceremony, attended by thousands of residents and guests both within and outside the state, witnessed the presence of prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During his address at the event, Governor Uzodimma pledged to surpass his achievements from his first term, expressing gratitude to the people of Imo State for their unwavering support. Drawing inspiration from Apostle Paul in the Bible, Uzodimma emphasized his commitment to fostering a better Imo in his second term.
Additionally, Governor Uzodimma extended his appreciation to President Tinubu for gracing the occasion, acknowledging the consistent support received from him and the federal government.
