The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited has asserted that it possesses a 30-day fuel supply, even as fuel scarcity and queues continue.
In a statement issued on Thursday afternoon, the government-owned oil company explained that the scarcity was a result of reduced depot loadout in Apapa, Lagos over a brief period, and it assured that the underlying issue has been resolved.
“NNPC Retail Ltd. acknowledges the emergence of fuel queues in certain areas of Lagos and a few other locations across the country.”
“We want to reassure all Nigerians that we have an abundant supply with a minimum of 30 days’ sufficiency,” the statement affirmed. “Motorists are urged to refrain from panic buying, as distribution will return to normal in the coming days.”
