Former NFF Chairman, Amaju Pinnick, has publicly criticized Davido for allegedly failing to honor his commitment to perform at the 19th edition of Warri Again, despite having received a substantial payment of over $94,600.
Additionally, Pinnick disclosed that they had arranged for a private jet at a cost of $18,000 to facilitate Davido’s appearance at the event in Warri, Delta State. However, Davido did not fulfill his scheduled performance. Pinnick took the opportunity to draw a comparison between the singer and Burna Boy, whom he hailed as the foremost Nigerian superstar.
In his statement, the sports executive conveyed that Davido should not assume an overly inflated sense of importance, as Delta State has also made significant contributions to the entertainment industry in Nigeria. He emphasized that Burna Boy has ties to Delta State, specifically from the Itsekiri tribe. Furthermore, he highlighted that prominent figures like actor Richard Mofe-Damijo and comedian Alibaba also hail from Delta State, underscoring the state’s significant role in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
