Atiku Abubakar has called upon Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join him in his pursuit of “justice” concerning the certificate controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu.
Atiku, who served as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, had formally requested the release of President Tinubu’s certificate from Chicago State University. His request stemmed from suspicions that the certificate submitted by the former Lagos State governor to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) might not be genuine.
Although the school had already released the certificate to Atiku’s team, the former vice president, who is contesting Tinubu’s election, has urged Obi, Kwankwaso, and other concerned Nigerians to join him in the pursuit of “justice” in this matter.
“This endeavor transcends Atiku Abubakar; it is an endeavor for the promotion of truth, morality, and accountability in our public affairs.
Consequently, I am reaching out to all well-intentioned Nigerians, thought leaders, religious figures, traditional leaders, community leaders, political leaders, and specifically, Governor Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP, as well as leaders from all political parties in Nigeria.
I extend this call to every individual who loves our nation, just as I do, and who desires nothing but the best for our country.
I implore them to unite with me in this campaign to establish transparency, accountability, and the fundamental principles of justice, morality, and integrity in our nation and government,” he expressed during a press conference held in Abuja on Thursday. “This is a responsibility for each and every one of us.”
