Pastor Enoch Adeboye has fervently prayed to God for the healing of Nigeria, and he encourages all citizens to join in prayer for the nation’s improvement.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) made the following statement on Sunday during the church’s October Thanksgiving Service and Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day celebration.
Pastor Adeboye delivered a sermon on the theme ‘Freedom Indeed’ during the service.
“In the name that surpasses all others, I offer a prayer for the healing of our nation,” declared the preacher.
“Independence signifies freedom, which is why we are discussing ‘Freedom Indeed.’ You may have gained independence from the colonial masters, but still find yourself enslaved by sickness, poverty, terror, and the forces of darkness,” he continued. “I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyful celebration, but above all, I pray that all of you who are in Christ experience true freedom and liberation.”
In various churches throughout the nation, Christians commemorated Independence Day by offering praises and prayers for the country.
