Naira Marley has asserted that he would consider returning to Nigeria for the ongoing investigation into the controversial demise of his former protege, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, but only if the security agencies can assure his safety.

During an interview with Reno Omokri, Naira Marley was asked about his willingness to come back to Nigeria. He replied, “I’m fully open to it if they can ensure my safety. There are numerous individuals who harbor animosity towards me and are unwilling to accept the truth, as they have been influenced by the media. If my safety can be guaranteed, I will certainly return.”

Regarding the videos showing Mohbad being assaulted and accusations of his involvement in the attacks, Naira Marley stated, “There is absolutely no truth to those claims. Even if you examine his police statement, there is no mention of Naira Marley’s involvement. I have no issues with him whatsoever. I have never given any orders to harm him, physically or otherwise. There is no video evidence of me assaulting him, and I have not dispatched anyone to harm him. These are all baseless allegations.”

Naira Marley acknowledged his friendship with Sam Larry but clarified that they have never interacted with Mohbad together.

Naira Marley revealed that Mohbad was consistently paranoid and that he had financially supported the late singer in getting brain scans. However, Mohbad declined to follow through with the treatment, insisting that his parents were better equipped to help him. Naira Marley explained, “I paid for several scans because that’s what he wanted at the time, but he was somewhat paranoid. I was trying to handle the situation delicately, trying to identify the underlying issue. It’s important to note that he had previously made a video stating that if anything happened to him, it would be my doing. I was merely attempting to find the best solution for him. He did undergo the scans, and I even suggested the possibility of seeking treatment abroad. However, he opted for his parents’ care.”

Naira Marley also refuted claims that DJ Splash was signed to his record label, Marlian Music. He clarified, “DJ Splash was never signed to Marlian Music. He is a DJ who has never performed with me at any of my shows. The title associated with him was purely because I had a picture with him. When the unfortunate incident occurred, he was not present at my residence.”
