Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has taken legal action against Napoli in response to a TikTok video posted on the club’s page on Tuesday, September 26.
The video seemed to ridicule Osimhen for his missed penalty during their recent 0-0 draw with Bologna in Serie A over the weekend.
Following a significant backlash on social media, Napoli promptly removed the video.
Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has suggested that Osimhen is contemplating legal action against his own club.
“The incident that occurred today on Napoli’s official TikTok profile is wholly unacceptable. Initially, a video mocking Victor was publicly shared, albeit belatedly removed thereafter.
This disturbing incident has inflicted significant harm upon the player, compounding the challenges he has endured recently, including media trials and the spread of false information. We are considering all options, including legal recourse, and will take any necessary measures to safeguard Victor,” Calenda declared.
