Singer Naira Marley has firmly denied any involvement, either directly or indirectly, in the tragic passing of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a recent statement posted on his Instagram page on the evening of September 26, Naira Marley expressed his deep shock not only at Mohbad’s demise but also at the “falsehoods and threats” directed towards him.
Naira Marley acknowledged that he and Mohbad had their fair share of disagreements during their collaboration, but he emphasized that these disagreements never escalated to the point of harboring ill intentions towards each other. He clarified that he has been out of the country since August 31 but is making arrangements to return in response to a police invitation, as they are currently investigating Mohbad’s untimely passing. He reiterated his full cooperation with the police and emphasized that he has no reason to evade authorities since he had no involvement in Mohbad’s demise.
The singer assured that the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing would be unveiled in due time, allowing the truth to come to light. He also mentioned that Mohbad voluntarily left his record label in September 2022, and his departure was amicably accepted. He dismissed allegations that his label attempted to hinder Mohbad’s career after his departure.
Furthermore, Naira Marley emphatically stated that he is not associated with any illegal drug activities, and claims labeling his record label as a drug cartel are baseless and false. He vehemently denied any involvement in physical altercations with Mohbad or instructing anyone to harass or harm him.
