The Lagos police have issued a strong warning, emphasizing that they will not be pressured, as they continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the demise of the late rapper, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, who was widely recognized as Mohbad.
Mohbad passed away on Tuesday, September 12, under mysterious circumstances, prompting numerous Nigerians to demand justice and call for a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
In a statement released on Saturday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, emphasized that the ongoing investigation would not be sensationalized in the media.
Hundeyin reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to adhering to established protocols. This comes in response to numerous requests for specific individuals to be interviewed and for the findings of Mohbad’s autopsy to be disclosed to the public.
“This is not a trial by media. The appropriate questions will be posed and answered in the proper forum, by the relevant individuals, and, perhaps most crucially, at the opportune moment,” he affirmed.
“We will not succumb to external pressures. Nevertheless, please be assured that we are diligently adhering to every facet of the homicide investigation protocol, with an unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of thoroughness and precision.”
