As Nigerian universities gear up for the upcoming resumption, the Federal Government earnestly urges students, lecturers, and parents alike to refrain from any actions that may impede the seamless progress of the academic session.

The Minister of State for Education, Tanko Sununu, expressed his appeal on Friday during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Congress of University Academics in Abuja.

He clarified that exercising restraint is crucial for the benefit of all stakeholders and the overall stability of the university system. Minister Sununu acknowledged that strikes and underutilization of facilities can result in rapid deterioration of infrastructure. He also assured that President Bola Tinubu is committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent strikes.

He further stated that the ministry is actively engaged in constructive dialogues and consultations with various stakeholders concerning the welfare of both students and staff, as well as the enhancement of infrastructure in tertiary institutions.
