The two-day warning strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) began on Tuesday with partial compliance observed among workers in various regions of the country, including Lagos State, Rivers State, and Abuja.

Some residents of Lagos voiced their discontent regarding the difficulties brought about by President Bola Tinubu’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidies.

Employees of Ikeja Electric found themselves unable to access their offices, as certain union members took charge of the entrance, preventing customers from entering.

However, this strike had no discernible impact at the Lagos State Secretariat, where government workers continued their daily tasks as usual.

Bank doors remained wide open for business, with customers freely entering and exiting the premises.

In Abuja, the block housing the Federal Ministry of Education within the Federal Secretariat experienced a brief closure of approximately five minutes before reopening to allow civil servants to resume their duties.

Meanwhile, at the secretariat, several blocks remained open as employees entered the building for their daily tasks.

Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that the attendance of workers is notably lower compared to typical workdays.

The scene at the Rivers State Secretariat mirrored the situation elsewhere, with several civil servants observed in attendance.
