The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, kindly appeals to the public to discontinue the practice of placing lamp post billboards, full-scale billboards, and similar advertisements congratulating him on his appointment as Minister. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

This information was communicated by Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press in the Office of the FCT Minister, through a statement released on Sunday.

In the statement, it was conveyed that the Minister deeply values the warm wishes and support from the citizens. However, he earnestly and firmly appeals for an immediate discontinuation of such billboards and advertisements.

The statement highlighted that the Minister recognizes the immense outpouring of goodwill not only from the residents of the Federal Capital Territory but also from beyond, and he sincerely appreciates the sentiment driving these congratulatory displays. The show of support has genuinely touched him.

Nonetheless, driven by a sense of public duty and dedication to his responsibilities, the Minister intends to direct his complete attention towards aiding His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in materializing his vision and the Renewed Hope agenda for Nigeria.

Ogunleye emphasized that as the FCT Minister, Wike’s primary responsibility is to actively contribute to the advancement and expansion of the FCT, while also prioritizing the welfare of its residents and the nation at large.

He highlighted that the Minister highly values the dreams and hopes of the FCT residents. Consequently, he is resolute in his commitment to fulfilling his duties with unwavering sincerity and dedication.
