President Bola Tinubu has strongly urged the recently appointed ministers to foster a spirit of collaboration amongst themselves and with him. This collective effort is pivotal in realizing the cherished aspirations of the Nigerian populace through their dedicated work within the government.
He delivered this message during the inauguration of the 45 confirmed ministers-designate on Monday, which took place at the Conference Centre of the State House in Abuja.
“We are all aboard this vessel, and while I may be at the helm steering, every Nigerian is onboard, observing as we navigate together. Mutual accountability is paramount; our duty is to fulfill the aspirations of every Nigerian.
As previously emphasized, you aren’t a minister representing a specific state, enclave, territory, or ethnic group. You hold the responsibility of a minister of the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria,” President Tinubu stated.
In his address, the President emphasized to the newly-sworn Ministers the profound honor that comes with being selected to serve within the Federal Executive Council. He also underscored the significance of fostering a spirit of collaboration among them.
He further noted that a substantial portion of the Nigerian population eagerly anticipates their commitment to achieving results, upholding accountability, and championing transparency. Additionally, there is a collective hope that they will operate with unwavering integrity, a sense of dignity, and a strong dedication to accomplishing their tasks.
“As we witness the inauguration of these Ministers today, we are poised to expedite our governance endeavors and propel Nigeria towards the realization of its loftiest aspirations. The foundation of our success rests on the strength of our cohesive team, which I firmly believe we have assembled here. The privilege of serving as a Minister within the federal executive council of our cherished republic is both a humbling honor and a weighty responsibility.
This juncture, characterized by abundant promise and concurrent challenges, necessitates each of you to stand out and distinguish yourselves. While it is I who bestows this authority upon you, it is the people of Nigeria who hold high expectations for effective execution, transparent conduct, and steadfast accountability.”
“Nigerians anticipate your commitment to serving with unwavering integrity and dignity, ensuring timely delivery. I will uphold you to this high standard. Your mission starts without delay. As your nation bestows this call to service upon you today, strive to prove your worthiness in the sight of both God and our fellow citizens,” he remarked.
