The Nigerian Navy has seized a vessel with a capacity of 350,000 liters, suspected of transporting illegally refined diesel.

Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder operatives, integral to the maritime segment of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), have intercepted the Motor Vessel Cecilia, suspected to be transporting illicitly refined diesel.

Commodore Adedokun Siyanbade, the Commander of the Maritime Component of Operation Delta Safe, reported that this operation took place at Meco jetty within the Trans-Woji region of Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. The successful mission was orchestrated through meticulous intelligence gathering and vigilant surveillance efforts.

Commodore Siyanbade elucidated that the vessel, with a substantial capacity of 350,000 liters, functioned essentially as a storage depot for the questionable product.

Expanding on the matter, he assured that all individuals implicated in the operation would be apprehended and subjected to due legal proceedings.

Operation Delta Safe is a collaborative task force operation aimed at safeguarding the vital oil infrastructure located within the Niger Delta region.
