The Lagos State Police Command has reported the arrest of three individuals in connection with the tragic demise of medical doctor, Vwaere Diaso, at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos-Island last Tuesday.
Spokesman for the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, informed Channels Television that three suspects are presently held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.
When questioned by our correspondent, Hundeyin confirmed the custody of the three individuals without disclosing their identities.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government has announced that the individual responsible for installing the faulty elevator, which tragically led to the doctor’s death, has been handed over to the police for questioning.
A statement issued on Friday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Strategy in the state, Olumide Sogunle, stated that an investigation into the accident has already commenced.
Sogunle announced that the investigation panel is set to present its preliminary findings on Saturday.
Furthermore, in response to the tragic loss of their colleague, the Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has initiated an indefinite strike affecting three hospitals
