The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed El-Marzuq, has tendered his resignation from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser, AbdulHalim Adamu, El-Marzuq explained that he is resigning from his position as the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to recent developments within the party. The emergence of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the National Chairman, and former Senate spokesman, Ajibola Basiru, as the National Secretary, has led to a reconfiguration of party offices for national cohesion and regional representation.
The statement read, “In light of the recent developments within our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the emergence of His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator Ajibola Basiru as National Chairman and National Secretary, and the subsequent reconfiguration of party offices for enhanced national cohesion and adequate regional representation, the National Legal Adviser finds it pertinent to resign his position within the party. This decision aims to facilitate a smooth reconfiguration of the party’s leadership.”
