Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu has revealed his mom died after battling with cancer for many years.
On Monday, the former Hapoel Be’er Sheva star shared a heartbreaking post and only wrote: “Worse day of my life.” But the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) later confirmed his mother’s death in a tweet shared on their verified Twitter handle.
The NFF wrote: “Our thoughts and prayers are with @NGSuperEagles midfielder @ogujohnugo following the passing of his Mom. May her gentle soul rest In peace.”
In a statement issued via his Twitter account on Friday afternoon, Ogu disclosed that his mother passed away on Saturday, January 23, after battling cancer for many years.
